6 month check up

Norah had her 6 month check up on February 6. She weighed 16.7 lbs (65th percentile). Her head circumference was 43.5 (85th percentile), and she was 27 inches tall (75th percentile).

crawling and sleeping

Yesterday Norah officially learned how to get from one place to another via an army crawl. I'm sure our lives will be very interesting now that Norah is mobile. Apparently crawling around the living room wore Norah out because last night was the first night that she has slept through the night.

Shower Time and Eggs

Norah is experiencing a lot of firsts lately. On January 28th she took her first shower. She seemed to really like the water dripping on her body. She tried to "eat" the water several times until it splashed her in the face.

Then on January 29th she tried eggs for the first time. She didn't quiet know what to do with the "real" food in her mouth. She kept grabbing for them, so we let her try them.

Happy 6 month birthday, Norah!

Norah, at 6 months old you do the following:
  • sleep in your own bed
  • get up between 3 and 4 am for a bottle then go back to sleep
  • eat stage 1 or 2 veggies and fruit
  • love to suck on oranges when Mommy and Daddy eat one
  • slobber everywhere!
  • weigh a little over 16 pounds
  • wear size 3-6 or 6 month clothes
  • wear size 2 diapers
  • love bath time! You love to grab your toys and splash the water.

Norah 6 month pictures

Norah has recently had a lot of visitors to play with. During the last week in January the Shumaker's came over for a visit, and Michael's dad came to visit for a week.

During the Shumaker's visit, the big kids, MacKenzie and Davis, played Wii, and the, Norah and Hattie, rolled around on the floor and played with toys.

Playing bowling on the Wii.

Michael's dad came to visit for a week. I think he enjoyed the one-on-one time with Norah, and so did she. Norah showed her Grandpa all of her toys and how they each worked.

Norah's sleeping in her own bed!

On January 27 Norah officially moved to her own bed. It was very bitter sweet for me because I enjoy waking up in the middle of the night to check on her and make sure she's ok, but I know that she'll sleep better in her own bed. She still wakes up early in the morning (around 4 or 5) for a bottle, so I usually move her back to our room in the Pack N Play for the rest of her early morning nap.

Norah's two teeth

On January 2 Norah sprouted her 2nd toothie. To be so small, they are sharp little teeth.
